CHAPTER 3: DATA HANDLING

What is Data Handling?

Data handling is about collecting and understanding information. Every time you count your cricket scores or see weather reports, you are working with data!

Cricket Example:

Runs scored by team: 45, 67, 89, 34, 78

This is data! We can find:

• Average runs = Total runs ÷ Number of matches

• Highest score = 89

• Lowest score = 34

Types of Data

Weather Data:

Delhi temperatures this week:

Monday: 25°C, Tuesday: 28°C, Wednesday: 30°C

Thursday: 27°C, Friday: 26°C

We can find the average temperature!

School Data:

Class 7 test marks:

85, 92, 78, 95, 88, 90

We can find who scored highest, who scored lowest, and the average marks!
